Directions to Campus

The Bahen Centre for Information Technology is at the St. George campus of the University of Toronto. The address is 40 St George St., between Russell Street and College Street, Toronto, ON M5S 2E4, Canada.

Walking from The Holiday Inn

Walk East on Bloor Street. Make your first right on St. George Street, walk about 0.5 mile/0.9 km to 40 St. George Street, which will be on your right.

Subway
If you are traveling from the east or west, take the BLOOR-DANFORTH line to St. George Station. From the St. George Subway Station: walk south on St. George St. about 0.6 mile/1 km (about a 15 minute walk) to 40 St. George Street, which will be on your right.

If you are traveling from north of Bloor and west of University Ave, take the YONGE-UNIVERSITY-SPADINA line south to St. George Station. From the St. George Subway Station: walk south on St. George St. about .6 mile or 1 km (about a 15 minute walk) to 40 St. George Street, which will be on your right.

**UPDATE: Because of construction April 5-6, there will be NO subway service between Bloor-Yonge and St. Andrew stations on YONGE-UNIVERSITY-SPADINA line. This may affect your travel plans depending on where you’re coming from. Please note that the Yonge-Bloor portion of the YONGE-UNIVERSITY-SPADINA is CLOSED south of Yonge & Bloor Station for the weekend of April 5-6. 

If you are traveling from south of Bloor Street, take the YONGE-UNIVERSITY-SPADINA line north to Queen’s Park Station. From Queen’s Park Station: walk west on College Street for 7 blocks to St. George Street. Make a right on St George Street, walk 140 yards or 130 m to 40 St. George Street, which will be on your left.

Please note that the YONGE-UNIVERSITY-SPADINA line is CLOSED from St. Andrew Station to Yonge & Bloor Station April 5-6.
Therefore, if you are coming into Toronto via Union Station, you will need to walk from Union Station one station north to St. Andrew Station in order to travel north up the YONGE-UNIVERSITY-SPADINA line. Alternatively, you can take a shuttle bus north from Union Station up to Yonge & Bloor Station, and then transfer onto the Bloor-Danforth line, heading west to St. George Station. From the St. George Subway Station: walk south on St. George St. about .6 mile or 1 km (about a 15 minute walk) to 40 St. George Street, which will be on your right.

Street Car
Take 306 Carlton toward Dundas West Station or 506 Carlton towards Hyde Park. Get off at College Street & St. George Street stop. Walk North about 140 yards/130 m on St. George to the Bahen Centre at 40 St. George Street, which will be on your left. Note: Streetcars are NOT accessible.

Car

Driving directions from west of Toronto (Getting to the University of Toronto from the QEW):

If you are on the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) eastbound towards Toronto from the west, continue to downtown Toronto. If you are on Hwy 401 eastbound towards Toronto from the west, turn south onto Hwy 427 after you pass the airport and follow the signs to the QEW. Then take the QEW east to downtown Toronto. The QEW turns into the Gardiner Expressway in Toronto. As you approach downtown Toronto, you will see the CN Tower – the second tallest free standing structure on earth – directly ahead of you. Soon after you pass the CN Tower, take the Yonge-York-University exit (which is the exit after Spadina). Go north on York Street until it meets University Avenue. Continue north on University Avenue, until you reach College Street. At this point, you should go east on College Street, but you are not allowed to make a left turn. So continue about 50 meters north on University Avenue until you reach the start of Queen’s Park Circle. At this point, you are allowed to make a U-turn and come back south on University Avenue. When you get back to the intersection with College Street, turn right on College (east) and drive west less than 500 yards/ about 450 m on College Street to St. George Street. Make a right on St. George Street. Bahen Center is on your left.

Driving directions from east of Toronto (Getting to the University of Toronto from Bloor Street):

If you are coming from the east towards Toronto on Hwy 401, turn south onto the Don Valley Parkway (DVP) after Victoria Park Avenue. Take the DVP south to Bloor Street. Drive west on Bloor Street until you reach St. George. Turn left onto St. George Street and drive south until you reach WHAT.

Driving directions from north of Toronto:

If you are driving south on Hwy 427 from north of Toronto, follow the driving directions from west of Toronto after you pass Hwy 401. If you are driving south on Hwy 400 from north of Toronto, go west on Hwy 401 at the junction of Hwys 400 & 401 and then go south on Hwy 427 at the junction of Hwys 401 & 427. Then follow the driving directions from west of Toronto.

Parking
There is paid on-street parking in front of the Bahen Centre. There is also a paid above-ground parking lot one block north of the building on St. George in front of the Nona Macdonald Visitors Centre at 25 King’s College Circle. There is also a larger parking lot here.
